SCRUBLANDS: SILVER

Writer - Episode 2

A Stan Original Series produced by Easy Tiger in association with Third Act Stories, Scrublands: Silver is the second instalment in the acclaimed Scrublands franchise, based on the bestselling book “Silver” by Chris Hammer.

Set in the coastal town of Port Silver, the series follows investigative journalist Martin Scarsden as he returns home, only to become entangled in a murder mystery that forces him to confront his past and the secrets of the town he once fled.

The series has been sold internationally, including to BBC (UK), RTÉ (Ireland), and Sundance Now (US & Canada).

Home and Away

One of Australia’s most iconic and longest-running television dramas, Home and Away follows the lives and relationships of the Summer Bay community.

Fiona has written over 270 episodes since joining the series in 1995, progressing from script assistant to a leading member of the script department. Her work spans decades of storytelling on the show, contributing to its continued success both locally and internationally.

Fiona joined Home and Away as a script assistant in 1995, where she developed her life-long love of television and stories. She wrote her first episode of Home and Away later that same year and went on to become:

  • Story Editor

After several years freelancing, Fiona returned to an in-house role in 2016 where she became a leading member of the script department. She remained until 2022 when she left to undertake further education and complete a Master in Screen Business at AFTRS. Fiona continues to write for Home and Away on a freelance basis.

All Saints

Script Editor (1998–2001)

Writer - 20 Episodes

A multi award-winning medical drama exploring the professional and personal lives of hospital staff.
Fiona was part of the original script department and remained with the series for over a decade, contributing as both script editor and writer.

Channel Seven’s multi award-winning medical drama All Saints explores the professional and personal lives of the doctors and nurses working in All Saints Western General Hospital. Originally set in Ward 17, the early years of All Saints focus on nun and Nursing Unit Manager, Sister Terri Sulivan (played by Georgie Parker), and her team as they deal with the ethical and emotional challenges of frontline nursing. The series later shifted to the highly paced emergency department and added a medical response unit.

Joining the script department of All Saints in its first year of production, Fiona remained with All Saints for most of the next eleven years, until its conclusion in 2009. She spent:

  • Three years working in-house as a script editor
  • Moving onto the freelance list, where she went on to write twenty episodes of the hit show

In 2008, Fiona was nominated for an Australian Writers’ Guild Award in the Television Series category for her screenplay for All Saints Episode 393 ‘Precious Moments’ (previously titled ‘Seconds’). Director, Tony Krawitz, won an Australian Director’s Guild Award for the same episode.
